Empowering the Self: We
take it as a given that the Harmonic Concordance is a moment that will be
experienced, first and foremost, by Mother Earth.
As such, it will have a far-reaching spiritual and physical
significance 1
that we commonly refer to as the Planetary Ascension. However,
the way in which individuals experience that same Moment in consciousness
is entirely up to them. We believe that those who are called to the
idea of Ascension, and who choose to do so, can align themselves with it
in many ways. In response to
that call, one of our day-to-day objectives is to tune our channel
to the frequency of the Ascension Moment. For us, one of the
most accessible channels is astrology. It
is our contention that any individual, understanding that the Concordance is
about Ascension, can make use of the planetary energies in his or her own
chart to harmonize with the Ascension Frequency of the Concordance.
This essay discusses two techniques, synastry and
composites, that are employed by astrologers in the study of relationships.
The synastry of a Person-Concordance relationship comparison
would describe how a fine-tuned, balanced frequency interchange between
them might best be achieved. The composite chart technique, on the
other hand, would yield a picture of that same Person-Concordance
relationship as an ideal blend of its components, and as something larger
than the sum of its parts. In either case, the knowledge gained is
instructive in tuning to the frequency of the Ascension Moment. The
teaching of this tuning-in
is two-fold. First, to consciously adjust our individual
frequency to a "harmonic resonance" with the Frequency of
Ascension that is occurring in the linear future is to take a pro-active
stance in creating our own readiness for that Moment.
Secondly, when one focuses on the Concordance energy pattern merely as
a future event, one can fall into the trap of the Concordance Paradox,
i.e., forgetting that if the Ascension Frequency exists at all, it exists
always in the NOW. This is
where the Joy of living the Ascended Life is experienced. The exciting part of this is that YOU can discover your own best "settings" through which to lock onto the Ascension Frequency of the Concordance. All you need is your birth chart and a copy of the Concordance chart. 2 Once you have them in hand, it shouldn't be too difficult to do a side-by-side comparison of the two, according to the model of the following comments and suggestions. Concordance Synastry Look for planet to planet conjunctions, planet to point (eg., Ascendant) correlations, Concordance hits on your mid-points, Arabic Parts, and fixed stars, as well as house placements of the Concordance planets in your chart. Once you do, you will have a clear view of how the Concordance energies ought to impact your life. (Conversely, by "flipping" the charts, you can see what your impact would be on the moment too.) Allow me to give an example of what I mean by examining how the Concordance chart impacts my own. The
following is a listing of a bakers dozen of the top "hits"
that the Concordance chart makes to mine. 1.
The
Concordance Moon conjuncts my Sun, And
of course, there are many, many more hits than this abbreviated list
shows. Nonetheless, it allows me to find several avenues by which I
can merge my own energies with those of the Harmonic Concordance Moment. As
a working astrologer, if I were asked to give my opinion on the
relationship between these two charts, I would say that they have a very
high "compatibility index." Using only the barest key
words of the astrological alphabet, the following analysis can be drawn
from just these 13 corresponding points applied to chart synastry: The
Moon/Sun conjunction indicates a mutual understanding of the basic
relationship issues. This makes the message of the chart attractive
to me on an emotional level. Inversely, since it is my Sun that
shines on the Concordance Moon, it is only logical that I bring my
spiritual purpose (Sun) to the publics (Moon) attention. In
turn, the Concordance expands (Jupiter) my highest spiritual
energies (Sun). As my spiritual sense of purpose (Sun) is fluidly
(trine) attuned to transmutation by the Concordance Chiron, the
Concordance Sun in my natal 6th house suggests that, in a
sense, we "work for the same boss," the Ascension. With
the Suns of the charts in opposition, the task for me is to find a mutual
perspective so that I may better be able to align myself with the
appropriate Ascensional attitude. My own emotional needs structure
(Moon) is prodded into action (opposition) by the seriousness of purpose
(Saturn) of the Concordance. With
its Uranus in my 9th house, the Concordance works on
heightening my psychic awareness, spirituality and connection to my
"God," and encourages me to travel the world(wide web) to
educate people about it. The Concordance Venus in my 7th
house assures that I will work in harmonious partnership with it. My
drive towards action (Mars) is prompted from a deep understanding that is
a carry over from "past" lives (the Concordance South Node).
As the Sun/Asc. mid-point represents the desire for intimacy in close
association, the Concordance Mercury propels me to communicate the
resultant Unity of such a relationship. The hard work, concentrated
energy and narrow focus that the Mars/Saturn mid-point stands for are
powered from the deepest subconscious levels (Pluto) of the Concordance
Moment's transformative powers. My path to bliss (the Part of
Fortune) is propelled from the spiritual depths (Neptune) of the
Concordance and my Part of Wisdom is stimulated by the main purpose of the
"life" of the Concordance, its North Node. The
Composite Chart The
comparative practice of chart synastry as described above carries a cause
and effect relationship between the energies of the planets in the two
charts in question. In a composite chart however, the chart that is
used for the analysis is made up of the midpoint distances between each
element of two different charts. The analytical picture, in other
words, is drawn in one map. In the "interface" that
it produces, it is more likely give an excellent and simple summary of the
potential of any relationship and to demonstrate how a relationship is
likely to fare in the long run. To paraphrase Townley, it gives us a
picture of the "meant-to-be-ness" of the relationship. In
yet another application of the Composite technique, the mid-points chart
can be said to produce a picture of the "third party" that lives
a life of it's own. This "life" is subject to its own
transits, progressions and returns, etc.
In this case they would be considered separate and apart from the
transits to the charts of the individuals from whom the composite chart
has been derived. 3 I
applied this technique to the composite of Johnny and the Concordance.
Erecting the Concordance chart for the same location in which I was born,
the Bronx, New York, I then generated the following composite chart. Surprisingly,
the chart turned up with a Marc Edmund Jones "splash" pattern,
i.e., a planet or node in every one of the 12 houses and in every sign
except Virgo. In other words, the energies are pretty much
universally distributed, indicating the breadth of fields of experience
(houses) and modalities of actions (signs) of which the composite,
Johnny Concordance, is composed. Lets
briefly consider the complex of planets involving Saturn and its mates.
I select Saturn because of its angular position in the Concordance
discovery chart and its strength in my own. Let's see what comes up
if we focus on it as a demonstration of how the "Johnny Concordance" chart would express itself as
an entity. In doing so I will draw extensively on Townley's Composite
Charts, and add a dollop of my own observation. According
to Townley, a composite Saturn in Gemini suggests that it is important
that we speak the same language, that we will find we sort out
critically important details ahead of time, that clear communication
generally highlights the relationship, and that the relationship becomes a
resource to others for clarifying issues and setting communicati0ns on a
firm foundation. While that's pretty good for starters, Saturn in
the 12th house is a bit more problematical. The concern here is that
there may not be enough commitment to making the relationship succeed.
The very fact of Astrosite's existence would belie that notion.
However, overcoming that obstacle may lead, Townley suggests, to finding
something of permanent value in the relationship. Continuing
with the focus on Saturn, by essential dignity the strongest planet in the
chart, we find that it is also conjunct to the Ascendant, trine the Sun
and Chiron, and square to the Moon. Normally not too cozy as
partners, the Sun and Saturn do, in a composite trine relationship
indicate a robust stability where the energy flows along well established
lines. Grace and dignity, a natural conservation of energy and more
stamina that most other relationships provide are but a few of the goodies
that go along with this "planet talk." Also, good control
and wise allocation of resources highlights this pairs' ability to
help out others and provide a joint shoulder to lean on for "...those
who have their act less together." Not bad, says I. While
Townley is mute on the Saturn/Chiron trine (indeed he makes no mention of
Chiron at all in his book) Barbara Hand Clow says that in regards to an
individual, it can produce a manipulative person or one with a
compassionate heart, but NEVER one that is ordinary, sighting JFK and Jim
Jones of Jonestown as her examples. She also says that it
gives a "...magical, alchemical aura [and a] magical grounding energy
[which can be] a great gift..." In this case, and extrapolating
somewhat from Clow's individual analysis to the composite of two
"moments," is seems clear that Chiron's nurturing and healing
abilities are applied to the support of the expression of Saturn at its
key position in the chart. The
one cautionary note in this Saturn complex of aspects is that of the
square to it from the moon. This produces, says Townley, a
relationship in which the partners "...criticize first and ask
questions later..." I, on the other hand, see it as implying a
strong dose of expectations, which runs both ways. In this analysis,
I would say that it suggests that the Concordance expects its partner,
Johnny, to deliver the "goods" of public attention (represented
by the Moon). On the other
hand, Johnny expects the Concordance to deliver a physically (Saturn)
understandable (Gemini) day, complete with perceptible support from the
spiritual (Sun/Chiron) realms! This,
of course only scratches the surface of the Composite chart analysis that
Townley discusses. The main point though is that it provides one
other way in which an interested party can find their "way into"
the frequencies of the Concordance Moment. Empowering
the Self Just
a little digging on your part will reveal how you too can empower yourself
to join us in this Moment. We hope that youll take the time to
pursue you own connections to the Harmonic Concordance, and we look
forward to seeing you all, on the other side of the that Moment, wherever
we may be, in that Now. _________________________________ 1
